Scott D. Church, MEd, LCSW
I grew up in a family of 10 people in a culture and religious environment familiar with disability, disease, mental illness, trauma, death, and abuse. It was like a world within a world in my childhood home. There was plenty of competition for attention among my seven siblings, which resulted in both despair and joy.
Like you, some long-lasting effects challenged me, but I learned to take risks through psychotherapy and counseling and became happier and more authentic. It’s never over! I continue the journey with my spouse and children in my own family.
My help does more than validate your pain; it aims for recovery and improvement. As a licensed psychotherapist with 25 years of experience, I want to help you do the same. To do this, I will draw on proven interventions and techniques such as CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), emotionally-focused strategies, trauma-informed, integrated sex and couples, the Gottman Method, and much more.
Together, we will help you advance and realize a life free from past hang-ups and current roadblocks. Specifically, we will develop a tailored approach for your progress and growth by diving deep into understanding your pain and suffering. We will then move along the path to emotional healing and self-empowerment.
